Melbourne Writers' Festival

When? 27 August to September 5, 2010

Where? Federation Square, Melbourne, VIC

What's it all about then? A festival featuring around 300 of the best writers from Australia and around the world, discussing everything from passion to politics, Harry Potter to history, short stories to sex, in a program of 270 interviews, panel discussions and other events at Federation Square. Also features a Schools' Program, workshop and masterclass program, a series of 10 high profile non-fiction lectures and a Keynote Address at the Melbourne Town Hall.

Each new festival breaks previous box office records with audience numbers 40,000+, as well as seeing a marked increase in the younger demographic of 24 - 35 years. This is now the predominant age group with the 36 - 55 age group the second most numerous.
