What's it all about then? The Somerset College Celebration of Literature is the premier school based literary festival held in Australia. The festival has a primary focus on Literature – Reading and Writing – but in addition has displayed an inclusiveness when it comes to promoting the Arts in general, these being literature, music, theatre, film and the visual arts. The festival is offered to the Queensland and Australian cultural community by Somerset College as its contribution to the literary and cultural landscape of the nation.

Patrick Ness, Markus Zusak, Sofie Laguna and Sophie Lee discuss why they write for both children and adults
Sam Bowring, Bruno Bouchet, Craig Silvey and Penny Tangey discuss the serious business of writing humour
Bruno Bouchet shares his valuable tips on comedy writing in a hands-on workshop
Queensland Writers’ Centre presents The Journey of the Book – a seminar with Belinda Jeffrey (Brown Skin Blue), Amy Vought Barker (Omega Park), a UQP Publishing representative and Kate Eltham (QWC)
